It is impressive to see in person how deep the city was buried and how far from the sea. That the skeletons were found on the jetties is very impressive. Finding the works of art that decorated the houses, frescoes, mosaics ... statues is a marvel.

It was extraordinary, the guide was very kind, he explained it very well with anecdotes and jokes, punctuality, excellent tour. We could not enter the part of the amphitheater because that day there was dinner of the G20 leaders.

Well, what I expect from a visit is that no one's there!!! and that I'm all alone!!! no kids, no old people!!! and that was practically the case, so it was cool.

At least an admission ticket and no queue. Paid for audio myself. In both cases I had the idea that everything was still possible at the box office. For less money: but booked in advance gives peace of mind! But it does cost a little extra.

Arrive early to avoid the crowds... the site is smaller and more intimate than Pompei. Superb conservation/restoration work. Small museum next door for a glimpse of everyday objects... perfect audio guide!

Ordered tickets in advance as on a time schedule and wanted to avoid queues. Was worried about a lot of negative comments about website on line, but these were completely unfounded. Even had an email day before ticket booking to alert me to new opening hours for Herculaneum.
great explanation of the sights via audio guide, short waiting time at the entrance, everything highly interesting, worth seeing!!!

It was easy to book tickets in advance which meant we didn't have to queue. We were able to leave our backpack in a locker for free. The site is small enough for children to manage to get around. Very interesting visit and amazed to see so much preserved history. It felt very sad, though, as it is essentially a large burial ground. Was able to get key info online. A map would have helped which I might have got had I bought tickets locally. I didn't get the audio guide as very expensive and new my 9yo son wouldn't have the patience to listen to it.
Tickets initially only avaialable through the app but sent to me as PDF when requested. Easy to use at the site and Herculaneum itself was fantastic - a fascinating site, well worth the visit. Many thanks for enabling the experience.
I loved the history! I bought the skip the line ticket which was easy to use . Parking right next to the site. I liked it better than Pompeii You can get audio if you like Took about 3 hours great experience!!
Hercalanum is a very pretty site that complements Pompeii. I strongly recommend doing both with an audioguide, as the visit will be all the more interesting. But if you want to do them in 1 day, get up early and take good shoes. It's like stepping back in time.

Site was very interesting. I'm sure getting tickets in advance would be really helpful in the busy season, but when we went there were no queues. Instructions were misleading, our tickets were actually collected outside the main ticket office.
Amazing place, so much history and is fairly well documented, food choice on site is poor though with only vending machines available. Easy to book.
Apart from the place, which is why we went. The surprise was the kindness and attention of the people who attended us, both in the access and in the audio guide that we got confused and did not have the right entrance, as in one of the people who looked after one of the domus.

Our guide Francesca was very knowledgable, very thourough and very interesting. We saw a big part of the site with her during her 2 hour tour, then she pointed us to the unmissable things in Pompei... we ended up spending 7 hours on site and saw almost every thing open to visitors. Not everything can be seen... it is as big as 66 football fields... you'd need more than a day to inspect every corner. However a full day is highly recommended, starting with a tour with Francesca, who will explain a lot, and will make you want to see more, with an open eye:)
It was not made at all clear that to open a ticket you need the Headput app. This took 60 mins to download at the location. 60 minutes in Herculaneum waiting for an app I had no indication I'd need. Make this pjs in in future is my advice
Ticketing very good but when we got to Pompeii it was quite chaotic. It didn't seem to matter what time you booked for, and seemed to be a general free-for-all! No complaints about your end of things, I just think they need to get their act together when processing people arriving. The tour was excellent and we had a really good guide!
Easy access from the metro. Free lockers. Loved the large area to take in views from above. Grounds weren't too massive, easy to cover and enjoy in a reasonable amount of time.
Tickets were easy to purchase and use upon arrival. Staff were polite. Herculaneum was clean, easy to navigate, and incredibly well preserved. If have kids, or just don't feel up to wandering Pompeii in the summer heat, Herculaneum is smaller and arguably more beautiful.
Very simple to access the site, well sign posted, staff were very helpful. So interesting to be able to interact and walk around so closely to all of the historic ruins.
This venue was an excellent alternative to Pompay! Smaller, but filled with archelogical preservation that is ongoing. Highly recommend
We didn't need the skip the queue tickets as there was no queue. We really enjoyed it. Found it more fulfilling than Pompei (apart from the forum) and quieter.
It was easy to buy tickets. Not many people but we had the confidence that we could get into the site.

Walked straight to the ticket gate and was quickly shown through. Loved te site, the frescos, tiled floors and buildings.
Everything. Herculaneum is smaller than Pompeii but well preserved. You get a good idea how the city looked like and how people lived those days. Wonderful

Although we had many problems to arrive at the agreed time due to strikes and train breakdowns. They were attentive to wait for us and to attend us with kindness and patience. Roberta was a very good professional, enthusiastic and cordial at all times.

It was great, the guide was amusing and full of information that you would never be able to get from an audioguide or book. We saw all the highlights and he explained everything about how the town was buried, how it was excavated and what happened to everyone. I would highly recommend doing this guided tour and the guide was amazing.
Lively, personal, background knowledge. Perhaps not all the highlights were shown. We looked at a few things afterwards. But everything was very good for the time available for the tour.

Luciano Leone was a brilliant tour guide, incredibly knowledgeable. My family and I were super impressed and really really enjoyed our visit to herculaneum because of this tour. I would definitely recommend the tour as you learn so much about the place, things that you would completely miss without the guided tour- lots of hidden gems! Luciano talked a brilliant amount and his personality and humour shone through, which made the experience.
Our tour guide Luciano Leon was a perfect guide. A very detailed tour and you can tell how much passion he had teaching us about the history. Enjoyed it very much.
it was very good, our guide francesco was very sympathetic and fascinating by meeting anecdotes. The children really enjoyed the tour, which was much more interesting and lively than on our own. We were also able to stay a long time afterwards to enjoy other sights that we hadn't been able to see on the tour. We recommend this tour.

I would recommend 10/10! Our archeologist tour guide, Luciano Leone, was amazing! It's obvious he is passionate about his work, provides valuable insight and has a witty personality. Getting to actually walk in the actual places that people walked 2000 years ago was simply astounding.
Very nice visit in French with an archaeologist who explained the site well and showed us the most interesting places. Thanks to Francesco for a very informative and enjoyable 2-hour visit.

Easy to book at short notice online for the same day. We really enjoyed the archaeological site of Herculean and there was so much still intact and preserved. The only issue we had was our guide spoke too fast especially at the start of the tour that it was hard to understand him really has to concertrate. He kept apologising for his English it was better when he talked slower.
I booked a tour with a sample group and turned out yo be 20+ where we had to carry headsets to even hear the guide. Herculaneum is beautiful but we had hoped for a much more intimate personal experience
The guide was very friendly and clear. The headset microphone system was very pleasant and made the visit easier.

The booking was easy to follow and we were able to book last minute. Ilaria was knowledgeable and engaging. We wish the tour was an extra hour to finish the highlights of Herculaneum.
Askos tours could reschedule the tour as I change our plans. Everything was easy, the guide Michael gave a very thorough and interesting tour, making us feel his love for archeology. The Askos staff, like Simona, was very friendly and helpful. I recommend.
Herculaneum is smaller than Pompeii, but being more well preserved, it offers walls and other surprises that can only be seen here.

I was very impressed by this visit. I really enjoyed the anecdotes told by the guide. An experience I highly recommend.

Very knowledgeable and involved guide Explanations are necessary because Pompeii has very few complete buildings - all the roofs have collapsed. The site is huge and crowded - 3.5 million visitors a year!

Easy to book, easy to find the meeting spot, excellent communications. Best of all, our guide Giovanni was first class, knowledgable and articulate.
The tour of Herculaneum was brilliant and the guide, Danilo, was very knowledgeable. My only gripe may have been my own fault. I followed the directions in the email, thinking that was to the meeting point, wrong, it was to the backdoor of the Archeology Unit. On re-reading the email I found a second set of directions to the meeting point. My wife was not impressed with my navigating.
Everything was wonderful! The guide was very informative and entertaining. The only thing I would suggest is changing the picture of where to meet in case our others were literal like us. :)
A really good, knowledgeable guided tour. Lots of information from an archaeologist who is passionate about his profession. It just bubbled out of him (Luciano Leone). Just great 👍

You should mention more clearly that partial cancellation is not possible. Due to that in the future I will buy my tickets from GetYourGuide which has that option.
Knowledgeable tour guide who was very familiar with the site having worked at Herculaneum for many years. Pace of presentation, guide answering all of questions with patience
The guide was passionate about the remains. He obviously knew a lot about it. It wasn't a jump the queue though as the tickets to get in that day were free!! We arrived early and had a walk around before our tour. Some of his pronouns made me wonder if he was an archaeologist though.
We had a wonderful guided tour of Herculaneum with our archeologist guide Nicoletta. The level of detail and information provided was excellent while also being entertaining and funny. Nicoletta chose perfect spots to stop and speak while allowing a good amount of time to take in the area and take photos. We would highly recommend this tour and are very grateful to our guide. Grazie mille

Historically wonderful but No seats or resting places as it takes several hours to fully see the site No real cafe, current cafe very poor and we spent almost a whole day seeing the site Audio guide was often confusing as talked about places we could not enter Many "rooms" were closed off for no apparent reason ( particularly the male baths ) It would be interesting if the account of the eruption was detailed and the subsequent change of the coastline explained A staged mock up of a typical room with furniture and arti facts of the period or even better , found on the excavation would be enlightening Photographs of workers in the bakery did not reflect the relevant period, very strange
Very simple to access the site, well sign posted, staff were very helpful. So interesting to be able to interact and walk around so closely to all of the historic ruins.
We arrived at Herculaneum and were soon to receive our phone guides and enter the site. Everything went smoothly for an enjoyable day

Very interesting experience, it was the first time I used 3D glasses on an excursion, very good. Alessia was my guide in Spanish, her knowledge, sympathy and good predisposition to answer my questions made the two hours pass without us noticing. Constructive criticism, why not start the excursion earlier when the park opens, and avoid the sun and heat at 10:30 am?

Experience was fantastic, our guide Alyssa was absolutely brilliant. Very informative and listened to everyone's needs. 3D was great as well to really get an insight into how people lived. Process was easy and instructions were very clear. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Yes, although we do offer last minute tickets, it’s best to book priority access tickets in advance as they are highly in demand. Especially during peak season (i.e. the summer months and holiday months like December and January), these tickets get sold out quickly, so we recommend that you buy these tickets beforehand.
Some priority access tickets also come with guided tour options and audio guides. These will cost anywhere between €10-30 extra for the added benefit of an educational experience.
Yes, at the time of booking, you have the option to choose the date and time you’d like to make your visit. This feature helps you plan your visit and time it well (we understand you may want to see nearby attractions too) to make the most of your experience.
You can cancel your skip-the-line experience with an archeologist up to 24 hours beforehand. Unfortunately, the experience cannot be canceled or rescheduled.
Once you exit the Archeological Park of Herculaneum, it is not possible to re-enter with the same ticket, skip-the-line or otherwise.
