It is impressive to see in person how deep the city was buried and how far from the sea. That the skeletons were found on the jetties is very impressive. Finding the works of art that decorated the houses, frescoes, mosaics ... statues is a marvel.

It was extraordinary, the guide was very kind, he explained it very well with anecdotes and jokes, punctuality, excellent tour. We could not enter the part of the amphitheater because that day there was dinner of the G20 leaders.

Well, what I expect from a visit is that no one's there!!! and that I'm all alone!!! no kids, no old people!!! and that was practically the case, so it was cool.

We arrived at the excavations by car and everything was very smooth starting from the parking lot. We did not wait either to get The audio guide or to enter. Very pleasant experience and really interesting excavations. Highly recommended

At least an admission ticket and no queue. Paid for audio myself. In both cases I had the idea that everything was still possible at the box office. For less money: but booked in advance gives peace of mind! But it does cost a little extra.

Arrive early to avoid the crowds... the site is smaller and more intimate than Pompei. Superb conservation/restoration work. Small museum next door for a glimpse of everyday objects... perfect audio guide!

Ordered tickets in advance as on a time schedule and wanted to avoid queues. Was worried about a lot of negative comments about website on line, but these were completely unfounded. Even had an email day before ticket booking to alert me to new opening hours for Herculaneum.
It was easy to book tickets in advance which meant we didn't have to queue. We were able to leave our backpack in a locker for free. The site is small enough for children to manage to get around. Very interesting visit and amazed to see so much preserved history. It felt very sad, though, as it is essentially a large burial ground. Was able to get key info online. A map would have helped which I might have got had I bought tickets locally. I didn't get the audio guide as very expensive and new my 9yo son wouldn't have the patience to listen to it.
Tickets initially only avaialable through the app but sent to me as PDF when requested. Easy to use at the site and Herculaneum itself was fantastic - a fascinating site, well worth the visit. Many thanks for enabling the experience.
The experience was great, we did not queue at all. The place is fantastic and very well preserved. With the autoguide we went into what used to be Herculaneum, with 360° views.

I loved the history! I bought the skip the line ticket which was easy to use . Parking right next to the site. I liked it better than Pompeii You can get audio if you like Took about 3 hours great experience!!
Amazing place, so much history and is fairly well documented, food choice on site is poor though with only vending machines available. Easy to book.
Apart from the place, which is why we went. The surprise was the kindness and attention of the people who attended us, both in the access and in the audio guide that we got confused and did not have the right entrance, as in one of the people who looked after one of the domus.

It was not made at all clear that to open a ticket you need the Headput app. This took 60 mins to download at the location. 60 minutes in Herculaneum waiting for an app I had no indication I'd need. Make this pjs in in future is my advice
Ticketing very good but when we got to Pompeii it was quite chaotic. It didn't seem to matter what time you booked for, and seemed to be a general free-for-all! No complaints about your end of things, I just think they need to get their act together when processing people arriving. The tour was excellent and we had a really good guide!
Easy access from the metro. Free lockers. Loved the large area to take in views from above. Grounds weren't too massive, easy to cover and enjoy in a reasonable amount of time.
Tickets were easy to purchase and use upon arrival. Staff were polite. Herculaneum was clean, easy to navigate, and incredibly well preserved. If have kids, or just don't feel up to wandering Pompeii in the summer heat, Herculaneum is smaller and arguably more beautiful.
Historically wonderful but No seats or resting places as it takes several hours to fully see the site No real cafe, current cafe very poor and we spent almost a whole day seeing the site Audio guide was often confusing as talked about places we could not enter Many "rooms" were closed off for no apparent reason ( particularly the male baths ) It would be interesting if the account of the eruption was detailed and the subsequent change of the coastline explained A staged mock up of a typical room with furniture and arti facts of the period or even better , found on the excavation would be enlightening Photographs of workers in the bakery did not reflect the relevant period, very strange
Very simple to access the site, well sign posted, staff were very helpful. So interesting to be able to interact and walk around so closely to all of the historic ruins.
We arrived at Herculaneum and were soon to receive our phone guides and enter the site. Everything went smoothly for an enjoyable day
This venue was an excellent alternative to Pompay! Smaller, but filled with archelogical preservation that is ongoing. Highly recommend
What was achieved by the scientists and their assistants to make posterity understand what a volcanic eruption causes and also the way of life of the people at that time.

We didn't need the skip the queue tickets as there was no queue. We really enjoyed it. Found it more fulfilling than Pompei (apart from the forum) and quieter.
It was easy to buy tickets. Not many people but we had the confidence that we could get into the site.

Walked straight to the ticket gate and was quickly shown through. Loved te site, the frescos, tiled floors and buildings.
